We do this by connecting donated funds to outreach initiatives.
We help generous people make informed financial and estate planning decisions, including charitable giving.
Our dream is to inspire generosity in others. Generosity to do good. Generosity to support good.
Our observation is that God has created within all of us a heart of generosity. Sometimes we just need a little help in channeling that desire into action.
Donors can donate through DoubleUp’s partnership with South Saskatchewan Community Foundation. We provide expertise on the gifting of many kinds of commodities and personal belongings, including:
Through a CRT, assets such as homes, cars, RRSP, etc. are donated into it, you receive a tax receipt for the market value, and then during your lifetime you can still use those assets. Once you pass, the assets skip the probate and estate process and are transferred to the Foundation to then honour your life well-lived.
Donating can be a somewhat complex process, depending on what is being donated, and how you intend to donate it. DoubleUp’s Financial Advisor can work with you and your team -- accountant, banker, legal -- to take care of the details, so that you can focus on the things that truly matter. In some cases we can supply forms that simplify the process. We do not charge for this service if you include a donation to DoubleUp.
Call us and we can arrange to chat. We’ll help you clarify your intentions, and review the steps to help you achieve your goals.

Listen to stories of the impact DoubeUp has
had in our community.
The inspiration for DoubleUp was birthed by an anonymous person. This person recognized that an established Regina church needed to re-discover its sense of mission. He/she offered a sum of money to help it re-focus its energies on outreach to others. This money was to be used as matching grants for outreach initiatives. This became known as MIG — the Missions Innovation Grant.
The MIG Program stated "The grant is to be used as seed money to stimulate the development of projects which have the potential to support the wellbeing of those in need in areas such as food, health, shelter, education, and the propagation of the faith."
"The grant is also intended to develop a sense of purpose, outreach and mission within the congregation of the church."
Individuals and groups with the church who saw an area of need were invited to submit a project proposal. There were reasonable guidelines governing how the grant funds could be used. A representative of the church acted as the liaison and adjudicator of projects, which went through a committee approval process. Eventually 35 projects were developed. The entire sum of money was dispersed within four years.
These projects touched lives locally and indeed around the world. Quite literally lives were saved and restored.
People were invigorated to take action. Some reflected that over the years they had become "bench-warmers". This opportunity and incentive to do good brought them out of their comfortable pews.
Additional funds were raised. Indeed thousands and thousands of dollars, equal to the original donation were brought forward to do good work. In some cases, government matching grants came into play to extend the impact even farther. Many of the participants continued to provide support with dollars, talents and energy in the years following the initial projects.
Small ideas blossomed. The grants acted to inspire ordinary people to do little and big things which changed lives for good.
Projects included working with refugees, housing for cognitively disabled, talking Bibles for blind farmers, Foodgrains Bank projects for crisis relief, leadership and community development locally and in international countries, school outreach expansion, Bible distribution, etc.
The Innovation Grant proved that a lot can be accomplished by ordinary people with some vision, encouragement, guidance, and a little incentive. People want to do good. Sometimes they simply need prompting and startup resources from a committed partner to do so.
DoubleUp follows the original model closely, with only three differences.
Incentive matching grants, long-term financial development, and project management assistance are all available to startup groups and projects within established charitable organizations.
Quote from the MIG program “When we do things for people, it changes us, it changes us inside. When we serve anyone else, we are serving God.”
